Our Work Today
`My brother, my sister, there are all around us the poor, who may receive from you the words of Christ, after you have fed and clothed them. There are the sick, whom it is your duty to visit. There are sorrowing ones to be comforted and prayed for. If the Lord has blessed you with this world's goods, it is not that you may greedily hoard it, or expend it in the indulgence of pride. Remember that he will one day say, "Give an account of thy stewardship." Let us invest our means in the bank of Heaven by using it to supply the wants of the needy or to advance the cause of
God. Then the Master at his coming, having found us faithful over a few things, will make us each ruler over "many things" in the kingdom of glory.'

Self Examination
“Make your life
preparation for eternity. You have not a moment to lose. Do
you keep God's commandments? Do you fear to offend Him? Do you
feel your dependence on Christ? Do you realize that you must
be kept every moment by His power? Is your life filled each
day with submission, contentment, and gratitude?” {MM 129.3} |

Conquering
Faith
“Faith such as this is
needed in the world today--faith that will lay hold on the promises of
God's word and refuse to let go until Heaven hears. Faith such as this
connects us closely with Heaven, and brings us strength for coping
with the powers of darkness. Through faith God's children have
"subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped
the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge
of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in
fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens." Hebrews 11:33, 34.
And through faith we today are to reach the heights of God's purpose
for us. "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that
believeth." Mark 9:23. {PK 157.1} |

When
Days Are Dark
“Into the
experience of all there come times of keen disappointment and utter
discouragement--days when sorrow is the portion, and it is hard to
believe that God is still the kind benefactor of His earthborn
children; days when troubles harass the soul, till death seems
preferable to life. It is then that many lose their hold on God and
are brought into the slavery of doubt, the bondage of unbelief. Could
we at such times discern with spiritual insight the meaning of God's
providences we should see angels seeking to save us from ourselves,
striving to plant our feet upon a foundation more firm than the
everlasting hills, and new faith, new life, would spring into being.”

Love
Your Enemies - One Phase Of Perfection
“Our work is to strive
to attain in our sphere of action the perfection that Christ in His
life on the earth attained in every phase of character. He is our
example. In all things we are to strive to honor God in character. In
falling day by day so far short of the divine requirements, we are
endangering our soul's salvation. We need to understand and appreciate
the privilege with which Christ invests us, and to show our
determination to reach the highest standard. We are to be wholly
dependent on the power that He has promised to give us.”
Just before making this
requirement, the Saviour said to His disciples: "Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you." We are to love our enemies with the same
love that Christ manifested toward His enemies by giving His life to
save them. Many may say, "This is a hard commandment; for I want to
keep just as far as I can from my enemies." But acting in accordance
with your own inclination would not be carrying out the principles
that our Saviour has given. "Do good," He says, "to them that hate
you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He
maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain
on the just and on the unjust." This scripture illustrates one phase
of Christian perfection. While we were yet enemies of God, Christ gave
His life for us. We are to follow His example.” (MM 253.2-3) |

Heavenly Enterprises
“There [in heaven] the
grandest enterprises may be carried forward, the loftiest aspirations
reached, the highest ambitions realized; and still there will arise
new heights to surmount, new wonders to admire, new truths to
comprehend, fresh objects to call forth the powers of mind and soul
and body.” {GC 677.2} |

Grab The Blessing
Hint 1:
"He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what
he has done. Blessed is he who considers the poor; the LORD will deliver him in
time of trouble.
the LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the
earth; you will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. the LORD will
strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
(Proverbs 19:17; Psalm 41:1-3)
Hint 2: "Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits
of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats
will overflow with new wine. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that
there may be food in My house, and prove Me now in this," says the LORD of
hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you
such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it." (Proverbs 3:9;
Malachi 3:10)

Make Your Every Day
`If we even
once omit our daily duty of calling upon God for His divine
aid, His care and protection, we lose one days enjoyment. We
have not the sweet, melting influence of God's Holy Spirit
attending us through the day, but we feel cast down and easily
discouraged.'
